We currently offer five on-demand online training courses, a facilitated training of the trainers course and a downloadable set of course materials that enable you to run a face to face course on FORB in your community.

A self-study course on freedom of religion or belief (FORB) that you can take at your own pace, at any time. A mid-level introduction to the issues.

Facilitated online course:
Training of the trainers

An 11-week course for people wanting to facilitate interactive trainings on freedom of religion or belief. Requires 5 hours work/week.

FORB and gender equality – enemies or allies?

A self-study course on the relationship between women’s rights and FORB. Take the course at your own page, any time. Includes a module on family law.

Online course:
Legal frameworks for working with FORB

This course explores the role of legal frameworks in protecting and promoting FoRB. Participants examine why legal protections matter, look at contested legal issues concerning religion or belief, and understand how the rule of law can foster social cohesion.

Tackling hate speech

Focusing on hate speech based on religion or belief, the course aims to equip you with knowledge, skills and tools to enable you to recognise, analyse and tackle hate speech in your context.

FORB and Christian Theology

Produced by SMC Faith in Development as a follow up to the FORB Learning Platform’s ‘FORB for all’ course, this self-study course seeks to strengthen Christian theological reflection on FORB exploring Christian theological arguments relating to FORB as a human right for all.

The ‘FORB training of the trainers’ course and the ‘Local Changemakers Course’ materials were fundamental to enabling us to develop a programme for human rights education in Brazil. We couldn’t have done it without the learning and resources we gained.
